Shady Mountain Pet Retreat will be a small pet resort. Tucked away in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains, the Pet Retreat will offer dogs comfortable accommodations in private 6' x 8' suites with beds, raised dishes and internet access for their human companions to visit them, private (10' x 6' yards) and community play parks, mountain hiking trails, wading pools and playground equipment. The retreat will also have a small boutique with unique items and premium dog foods, a doggy washing area, indoor and outdoor training areas and an Olde Towne atmosphere indoors, while the exterior of the building fully blends with the farm environment. All dogs will receive loads of exercise, lots of personal attention and daily training sessions.

Exterior similar to a monitor style barn

Interior - the fronts of each suite will look like a regular house front complete with front door, carriage light and picket fence front yard. The street will be pressed concrete to appear as a brick road. Other flooring will be epoxy painted concrete. There will be street lights as well as overhead fan/lights in each suite.

The staining of the logs is nearly complete. Next is chinking and finishing the exterior trim. Once that is done I will schedule the installation of the fencing for the individual exterior runs and we'll begin on the interior finishing work which includes low voltage wiring and drywall. We are hoping to have the pet retreat operational by Fall.
