The Perfect Companion: K9 to Order

Training Unlimited now offers you the Perfect Companion. A dog of your breed choice, fully trained prior to coming into your home. Sounds too good to be true? It is true. Now you can have a dog that is already house trained, obedience trained and arrives in your home without all the bad habits associated with improper puppy raising, lack of training and adolescent antics.

Here's how it works:
You consult with Miriam Fields-Babineau about which breed or mixed breed you'd prefer to have. She will discuss the pros and cons of each breed and gender of interest. You will then discuss how old the dog will be when it will be ready to integrate into your home. Different breeds have different readiness factors. For example, a sporting breed might not be ready until it is 8 months of age, whereas a toy breed might be ready at 6 months, or an older rescued dog might be ready within 3 months.

Then, Miriam Fields-Babineau will find your dog of choice through careful breed assessment and temperament testing.

Upon obtaining the dog, she will insure it receives appropriate veterinary attention, including all inoculations, neutering, microchipping and worming. Throughout the time the dog remains with her, it will receive regular veterinary check ups. Prior to being brought into your home, the dog will receive a health certificate, proof of inoculations and rabies certificate.

While at Training Unlimited the dog will learn how to live within a household. Housetraining, learning which items are appropriate chew toys, canine-to-canine socialization, human socialization, feline socialization, behaving in public places, and other behavioral issues as well as how to perform the heel, sit/stay, down/stay, come and stand both on and off leash.

During this "puppy raising" you will receive photographs of your dog (via email) as he develops into your Perfect Companion. You are welcome to come and visit with him/her (by appointment).

When your Perfect Companion is ready, he will be delivered to your home where he will be integrated into your family. Miriam Fields-Babineau will give you a lesson on how to communicate with your dog via vocal tones and visual cues. This will follow with 1-2 more lessons depending on the situation.

Princess is a Pit-Bull/Springer Spaniel mix that was rescued and trained by Miriam Fields-Babineau. Having spent most of her life tied up she had no manners. Within 3 months she was ready for her new home, no longer jumping up, barking excessively, messing in the house or chewing. She also knew how to perform all her obedience commands on and off leash. She loves children and being with people. She also loves to travel. You, too, can have a dog like this by using the Perfect Companion program. Best of all, you can save the life of a needy dog that might otherwise have dyer consequences.

Pricing: As every dog is different, the pricing will greatly vary. There's the cost of buying a purebred or paying adoption fees; veterinary fees; grooming fees; and bedding, food, and toys.

Here's a ballpark figure:
Obtaining a dog - $550(rescue dog)--$2500 (higher if the breed price is higher); this includes the time required to locate, temperament test, and obtain the dog.
Maintenance (food, grooming, veterinary fees) - $500 per month
Training - $1200 per month
Deliver to your home - varies on distance
Training lesson in your home - varies on distance

Payment:
When contract is signed the total cost of obtaining the dog and the first month's maintenance and training costs will be due.

Each month training and maintenance will be due by the 5th of the month.

Upon delivery, the cost of delivery and the first lesson will be due.

Thereafter, the cost of each lesson given will be due at the completion of that lesson.

Extras: costs of training leashes, extra bedding or crates will be added to first month of maintenance fee. All bedding, crates, and training devices will go home with the dog for your use.
